Nevertheless, students can participate in part-time employment or internship programs in case they have the official sanction of the corresponding UAE authorities or via their university. The UAE has a high number of universities that assist students to pursue on-campus jobs, approved internships, or industry placements in accordance with academic programs. During academic semesters, the number of hours that can be worked is limited and can be increased during semester vacations or holidays, with permission. It is important that students adhere to the UAE labor and visa laws. Illegal work may attract fines, a visa may be cancelled, or legal actions may be taken; hence, only appropriate permissions must have been secured before engaging in illegal work.
